Wax removal procedures

At Earz, our audiologist gently remove earwax using the method best suited to your ears:

  • Microsuction: Gentle suction removes wax from the ear canal.

  • Irrigation (syringing): Warm water or saline flushes out softened wax.

  • Manual removal: Specialised instruments carefully remove wax.

  • Combination of methods: Two or more of these methods may be used to help remove the wax.

We recommend using wax-softening drops for two days before your appointment, if suitable for you. These are available from your local pharmacy.

If you are unsure whether you can use ear drops, please check with your GP or pharmacist first.

**In some cases, referral to an Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) specialist may be recommended.

All reusable instruments are cleaned and reprocessed in accordance with current infection control guidelines.
